Pulsar Axiom XQ35LRF vs TELOS XP50

I currently own the XQ35LRF and have enjoyed using it for a couple of years. I no longer need to LRF (have it not he binos) and have been thinking about changing it. At the Stalking show at the weekend I spoke to Pulsar and they recommended the Telos XP50. I either go down to a (lighter) Axiom without LRF or take the opportunity to get a ‘better’ TI. It was hard to tell at the show how much better the ‘picture’ is on the Telos and whether it justifies the extra weight/price. Be interested to hear anyone’s perspective who has used both units in anger…

Pulsar Telos XP50 is very good monocular.

Picture will be better than the one in Axion XQ35LRF.
The question is, do you need better picture, when Axion XQ35 served you well this couple of years.

If your answer is yes, than you should seriously consider if Pulsar Telos XP50 is the right one.

HIKMICRO Falcon FQ50 2.0, THERMTEC WILD 650 and NOCPIX VISTA H50 are at least as good and in some aspects possibly better.

All three of them are 12 micron vs 17 micron Telos XP50.
Vista and Falcon have larger screen.
Wild and Falcon use 18650 batteries.

XP50 has larger field of view due to its 17 micron pixel size.

Also not unimportant, Telos, Vista, Falcon and Wild are significantly larger than Axion.

Hard choices.

If I would be in your position, I would go for something with large sensor (Pulsar Telos XL50 or Merger XT50) or HIKMICRO Habrok Pro HX60L.

It is more money than XP50, but this is where the real difference in picture quality comes into a play.

Fwi. I have a axion, perfectly good spotter but borrowed a freinds Telos and the difference in image clarity was massive. Can I bring myself to spend the extra £ to upgrade? No not yet.

Have you looked at Pard ‘s new thermal offering?
The leopard 640 LRF with a 50mm lens,
Its has a very wide field of view
Very small to hand
Best picture I’ve seen in a 640
And comes in at £1899
These were at the stalking show
Should be on sale soon .

Just buy a HikMicro Condor or Lumi H35R

Never look at a thermal at a show, it does not give you a genuine image, it's easy to think something thats total pants is half decent... when it's not...

As it happens 3 of us looked at the HickMicro Condor and Lumi And other brands at the show and if I was going to fork out 2k I would definitely have a serious look at the Pard leopard 640 LRF
It’s so easy to function,
On off function on side
It’s smooth zoom function
Changing pallets just a press of button not having to go through a menu
So easy to change battery
Small and light,
So I take it that you have actually looked through the Pard Leopard 640 LRF 50mm?
We all know that you can only get a genuine picture outdoor.
The ergonomics and easy function are also very important when choosing a unit.

I hadn't looked at pard. I have their DS35 and like it. I was hoping to drop the LRF bit to reduce weight and price on whatever I buy

HikMicro palette selection and single press change.
NocPix palette selection and single press change with full custom button control

Not in the same league as these established manufacturers, its Sunday league against Premier League.. to be honest.
