Pulsar battery problem

Having an issue with my pulsar quantum lite xq23v thermal, was working perfectly when during a sit out for a fox it wouldn't turn on, led indicator briefly shows green then goes to red/orange. Assumed it was flat battery but fully charged replacement did exactly the same, both dnv batteries despite being charged, confirmed with volt meter, do the same, fresh AA batteries in the cradle, again confirmed with the volt meter also do the same, I'm thinking possibly some internal switch at fault, any ideas please?? I've tried holding the on/off switch down but no change, good contact between terminals as well

I had a similar issue take the batteries out of the unit and carefully lift the two prongs at the bottom of the battery compartment be gentle it only needs a touch this should then ensure a proper contact

Greenmist,
Are you and I the only 2 people still using a V23?
Not the best but it does what I need and it’s surprising, with experience just what you can definitely id.
The only time mine ever shows an orange colour light is on switch on when it show briefly before green and occasionally it shows orange when going from display of to on.
Mine owes me nothing and it will go in the bin the first time it’s not reliable.
Sorry can’t help more.
Ken.

Thanks for the reply, I did this when the second battery gave the same result, contact is good, so we're getting there, not the batteries, not the contact, nothing loose or rattling about, I'm leaning towards faulty on/off switch, will wait and see what Thomas Jacks suggest

Same here, does or rather did what I needed it to

Just an update in case it may help another, Thomas Jacks have it and have been great to deal with, very good communication, issues with my pulsar
  • Board set
  • Eye cup
  • Control button cover
  • DC/V cover
  • Troubleshoot, maintenance, service & clean
I won't show the price publicly but will via PM if requested, I could have paid about £150-£200 more and got a similar spotter second hand on here, however all parts replaced by Thomas Jacks will be covered by a 3 year warranty, so essentially it should be like new with a fresh warranty

On its way back to me now, at the upper end of their timescale, but factor in christmas/new year etc, also came in slightly cheaper than originally quoted,

Just taken delivery of it (DPD on the ball as well), unit works perfectly, everything feels very positive and firm, if I'm perfectly honest, I'm struggling to tell what hasn't been replaced.
Looks and feels like new, so well done Thomas Jacks
