Pulsar digex illumination

You'll get lots of different opinions, and your final choice will depends on what you;re shooting and at what sort of ranges.
I've used a Drone Pro, Digex and PARD NV008
I'd rate them (best tow worst)
Drone Pro - great image quality and can handle a wide range of visible and IR light intensity - virtually impossible to white out
PARD NV008 - best day/night option and although it needs a lot of IR, it does produce and excellent NV image
Digex - most sensitive, but whites out very easily, no daylight capability worth speaking about, very "soft" image. Basically designed for shooting large targets (boar) at short ranges in moonlight or with minimal IR. Increasing numbers of people who have bought them are returning them or selling them on because they white out too easily.
PS The somewhat cheaper Yukon Sightline is basically a Digex with the "toys" removed

Cheers

Bruce

Hi Bruce

what IR would be the best suited to the Yukon Sightline 470 and 470s models

at the moment I’m using the pulsars 850 led and the 940

are there any better ones for the units or recommendations and a supplier

cheers

phil

Very well, much better Picture, curbs whiteout considerably, I have in fact chosen the add on route So I can use other rifles at night, with this in mind my digex 450, in as new condition, just two months old with plenty of gaurantee left and probably the covert lamp will be up for sale in the next couple of weeks.

If you turn the lens cap round so it opens down to wards the barrel and then put a 20mm bit of foam between the two it raises the cover up enough to block out the ir in the foreground ( no tape needed ) when you’ve got it how you like it , stick a bit of glue on it for a permanent solution
you can then raise the and lower the torch mount to any distance with out white out in the foreground

Might take the tape off mine and give that a try, Thanks.

A Drone Pro - any Drone Pro new or used will wipe the floor with the Digex.
The Drone pro is premier League, The Digex barely makes it into the Championship
Unless that Championship is for a really great and reliable mounting system. In which case the Drone doesn’t deserve to win a local pub league.
