I tried that and for me it was way out, but saying that give it ago as you will need to check zero for peace of mind and safety sakeAre you able to just put in your original X/Y numbers for the re-zero or are they completely different please ?

Okay thanks for the info.I tried that and for me it was way out, but saying that give it ago as you will need to check zero for peace of mind and safety sake
Okay thanks for the info.Worth a try but they will need certain information from your thermal prior to sending you the format to reset!
If your at work and your using QR mounts just take it with you it literally takes 10 minutes.
Updated Merger XP50 and Thermion XL50 last week. Absolutely no ill effects and Pulsar's listed improvements all in check. No complaints. Cheers.
Yes not all Updates are “Upgrades “ in the opinion of the user, iPhone updates an exampleAgreed, the picture and general performance on my Merger XL50s is now shocking and I am bl**dy seething about updating the firmware!
For the image in general, it looks as if the contrast has vastly increased, so you see a big difference between different temperatures. However, If you're scanning across a piece of ground, as soon as a heat source comes into view e.g sheep in the foreground, it seems to dim the brightness and/or change the contrast of the whole screen, which washes out the image and you lose the clarity of the background and it's difficult to pick up detail on the ground and any distant heat sources. When it keeps changing brightness all the time like this at night it really messes with your eyes, almost as if the screen is flashing. Definition on hot objects is nowhere near as crisp now either. I have tried suggestions from Thomas Jacks of return to factory settings and format the memory, but this makes no difference.
Desperately hope Pulsar produce a fix. For those with Merger XLs, my advice would be to avoid updating the firmware!
How is it done?Just had the talk thru from T Jacks, Mergers now back on previous firmware build.![]()
What exactly is your point other than trolling?
Your statement is just very anti thermal and NV, at least the way it comes across, and then you note the pulsar units you have just updated - it was very amusing, not a personal dig. Perhaps your screenshot statement was only in reference to using the technology on deer of course / but then, what makes deer more worthy creatures than foxes and so on.What exactly is your point other than trolling?![]()
A few sequences of button presses & hold downs, they were most helpful.How is it done?
Not anti thermal and nv, I was presenting an opinion on use in deer management during legal shooting hours (the basis of the entire thread) and the recording function prompting a surge in social media posting. Nothing makes any creature more worthy than another. My fox management is during the hours of darkness so nv and thermal are the applicable tools.Your statement is just very anti thermal and NV, at least the way it comes across, and then you note the pulsar units you have just updated - it was very amusing, not a personal dig. Just for those interested in the non-Wi-Fi c50;Is it the case that non-Wi-Fi c50’s cannot be updated, or can this be done via the cable?
I recall discussion on this when they were new, but don’t know if concluded for sure
thanks
As the owner of a C50 without wifi, I was forced to buy it because the company didn't send them and now I find myself without the opportunity to update, I say bye bye to Pulsar, too bad, I thought they cared more about their customers, then you're surprised why you buy Chinese ...they give everything and it costs lessJust for those interested in the non-Wi-Fi c50;
Thomas Jacks confirmed for sure that the non-Wi-Fi c50 cannot be updated via cable. In any event the ballistic calculator also needs the Bluetooth module, which the non-Wi-Fi version also lacks.
Shame - you would have thought during design a cable connector could have been used to apply firmware updates
