Pulsar Merger Duo NXP50 - Multi Spectral Binoculars

I've just received a set of Duo NXP50 thermal binoculars to review. I was a little dubious about these due to the fact the range finder has been omitted....BUT the 1200px resolution night vision sensor is something else, the image quality this produces in night vision mode is light years ahead of the competition, pin sharp quality throughout... The first multi-spectral device I have used that will identify clearly at night, retaining excellent resolution and sensitivity..... before someone says yes but it's not colour , well it's not, but it's still fully useable and pin sharp during the day and in a different league totally, to lower specification binocular format models at night...

Nice touch with the chest pouch for this model also, so you don't need to purchase one separately.. Footage to follow.

Do these offer a fusion mode to overlay thermal signatures onto the day/night image? Or is it flip between one and the other?

I’ve got to ask the question that’s on everyone’s mind.
How much will they be ?
Looking at the Pulsar video they do look good.

I have a HIK Gryphon thermal spotter with a mono optical channel and a fusion function function that can be set to overlay the thermal and visible image at 3 different ranges (to allow for the offset between the thermal and optical lenses)
After extensive use and testing I can honestly say that thermal/visible fusion is the biggest load of crap I have ever seen
Clearly the NV/thermal manufacturers have reached the same conclusion because the HIK Gryphon which was the follow up product range dropped the fusion function and any other manufacturer that has multi spectral kit keeps the images separate and allows the user to flip between the two

Cheers

Bruce

Trionx was Pulsars version of a fusion device and released in the states with a fixed focus day optical sensor, but they never released to the UK market. Like mentioned fusion alignment is very hard to get right at all ranges..
