It might help if you say what rifle you’re talking about putting the Thermion on.

On reflection - eye relief might be an issue - you might require ‘ off set ‘mounts

I use the Innomount, they are excellent for repeatability

American defence for me, eye relief is no issue on my tikka 595

Recknagle mounts for me on my Tikka 595, I have two sets one for my XM50 Thermion and a set for a Sightron never had any problems with returning to zero, been on and off loads of times.

I use 2 x Tikka T3x rifles in 243 and 308, both have identical Leupold QR base and ring systems, spaced identically.
Each has a day scope zeroed on Leupold QR rings that fits the base system. Release and fit is 2 seconds via a small lever on each base.
I use one thermion scope between both rifles on one set of thesd leupold rings, it is zeroed to both rifles, a profile zeroed to each rifle. A for 243 and B for 308.
No change to zero, always bang on, been using it for years.

I see that the same Leupold base and ring system is available for Remington 700. I wouldn't use anything else... very cost effective and beyond reliable.
