PYODERMA

My GWP suffers from pyroderma during the summer months running in stubble swimming and long grass , as a result he gets red sores under his armpits and on his stomach area. Last year I took him to the vets and received a three week course of antibiotics, this year I spoke to a horse breeder who suggested the following ointment instead. I washed the affected area with hibiscrub and then applied the ointment twice, the redness and dry scabbing has almost completely gone after two days. For £10 at your local equestrian suppliers it's well worth a try if like mine your dog suffers scratches and sores.

No I had tried the hibiscrub for days before and had given up and looking at a visit to the vets as the redness and sores had failed to clear up I'm convinced it was the ointment that cured the issue.

"Silver Salve contains pure silver which, by way of the enlarged surface area, leads to a continuous release of silver ions. This allows the silver's antiseptic effect to unfold. Infections subside, allowing the skin to calm and regenerate. High-quality plant oils provide dry, cracked skin with moisture, making it smooth. Can be used to support the pastern against moisture and bacteria. Silver Salve can be used in combination with leovet Zinc Oxide Spray. "
