Range In East Anglia

I am currently planning an overseas trip for September 2026, but the shooting on the trip may be longer distance in the mountains, on my ground I struggle to get past 300 meters with a safe backstop, I would like to over train for shooting at the distances I may need to shoot on the trip, and would like to regularly practice shooting out to 600 meters, does anyone know of any ranges in East Anglia where I can pay to play which shoot out to that sort of range? Within an hour of either Kings Lynn or Peterborough.
Thanks

If you have 300m on land you have access to then how about using a half sized target to practice on. Granted it won’t give you the opportunity to confirm bullet drop, or to learn how to read & adjust for wind at that range, but it will enable you to train for your sight picture & develop the necessary position, shot release & follow through.

to my knowledge no such facility exists locally (i live in newmarket) for what you want you may need to travel to wales , i highly recommend orion would give up shooting before i travelled the extra 20 miles to the new WMS site.......

Or shoot up to 200m with a 22lr to practice countering drop and windage.

The recoil/sight picture from a centre fire is far different than a toy .22
Using a .22LR to practice is actually a very good idea - they are VERY unforgiving of poor position, body alignment, shot release & follow through. Simply because the bullet travels about 1/3 the speed of a centrefire rifle so poi can be changed due to the rifle moving after the trigger has been pulled.

They are also a very cheap way of practicing too👍

i built a 22lr on a rim x action in an MDT ACC stock as a trainer for my creedmoor comp rifle , it defo helps

I have a Finnfire Range with a CG trigger that is identical to my M595 Master Sporter in everything except the chambering - effectively the same gun as far as shooting it goes.

The Sauer 200 STR has a .22LR conversion kit that allows it to be used for indoor practice in Scandinavian winters.

I'm in Peterborough and would also be interested in somewhere local,
there is a place at Gloucester 2 hour 15 min drive from mine , they have gongs out to 600 , you have to hire the whole range but you can split it between a few of you

It would like be using a .410 to practice inplace of a 3" 12bore lol

Anyway the op won't be booking in his .22 a the airport :)

Thanks, I had a very good training day at Orion last year, found them really helpful and had me shooting gongs out to 1000 yards. But it’s a long way to go for an afternoons practice once a month, it was the training there which gave me the confidence to book the trip.

It’s the windage i need more practice, and the effect of it at that distance. After being at Orion last year I have the bullet drops all sorted.

I’ve just had a look at their website - I may well book a trip over there. Cheers for the info 👍🏻

theres always bisley ?

it's closer and you can practice your wind calls there ?

the thing about wind calls is they are a best guess and it varies by the second so once you make your call you are then waiting for the same conditions before you fire , my creedmoor at 300m is 4.82 mils in a 10 mph FV wind i might dial on the range but in a hunting scenario i will use my reticule and reference the bracketed cheat sheet taped to the stock
