Reloading Hornady ELD-VT Bullet Length

Hi, I've used this site a lot over the years prior to buying any number of toys.
I have not given much back, and having a bit more time these days, I thought this may be of interest or use to someone.
I have bought a box of Hornady ELD-VT in .308 and 174grn.
I could find no reloading data for this relatively new bullet, and posts on various sites regarding the length of the bullet have proved to be wrong. All sorts of theories on its origins and length. All incorrect. Thankfully.
They measure (average of 10) 1.42 inches including the tip.
I have a Mauser M12 20inch barrel 1in 11 twist.
I settled on.
PPU case,
CCi large primer,
Viht N150 41grn,
COL. 1.8 inch the longest to fit the magazine.
I started at 40.5grn and went to 42.5grn
At 42grn and over the primer was flattened more than I was happy to regularly shoot.
At 100m 5 shots and 41grn I had a 4 shot clover leaf and one shot that spoiled the group to measure 1/2 inch.
I've Zeroed at 200m. I'm just waiting for suitable weather to do 500m drop measurements.
All the above has proved safe in my gun.
Make sure you start low as I definitely as expected got more excess pressure signs loading this than the ELD X loaded with 42grn of N150 178grn.
Hope it's useful.
