Rifle cant leveller recommendations

My view is that such an item is a solution searching for a problem. Yes, rifle cant can have an impact - can you 'see' it - you need to be seriously out of vertical and/or over an extended distance. The former doesn't need a 'device' - the latter largely lost in other environmental considerations/impacts. If you want to take the Lambretta approach to rifle accoutrements and have flashing blingy stuff, crack on - be interested to hear whether there is a material improvement in your shooting as a result

the MDT one is good , i don't know what style of shooting you need it for so cannot comment whether you need one or not.........

You don't need one, more practice shooting and familiarity with your rifle is all that's needed .
Agree if your inexperienced, shooting live quarry situations or short range targets and we can all use extra practice to keep us sharp. But disagree if your shooting at distance and the maths will back that up. Using rounded numbers to help the calculations a 5 degree off cant with an ave 308w to a 1000 yard target will put you >40" off target. I have used a home made bubble level for over 40 years on my long range rifle and more recently my 22lr at 300y but don't use any on my stalking and night shooting rifles. Looking to move to electronic red/green lights as my eye focus point on the bubble and scope reticle has changed with age and glasses wont help that. That was the reason for the query but thank you for your opinion.

Not rocket science holding a vertical rifle especially with the aid of a reticule :-| All normal distances anyway. Used to have a scope that had a level built in, situated in the botom of the tube. Did I ever refer to it

Another option is to buy a scope that has an electronic level built in. I don't have one, but friends have these gadgets.

Hi JCS, did consider that but I am settled with the Nightforce and Ziess optics on my range rifles, going to have a look at your suggestion may be the one. Thanks

Built in on my 2x electronic scopes. Very handy at times.
Essential on air rifles if your shooting on hilly ground diagonally up and down slopes.
I have buble levels attached to all my rifles that use glass. I also have 2x glass scopes with internal bubble levels.

I use the external Spuhr bubble level on my long range target rifle, but have pondered trying an electronic one. The Spuhr mount has the bubble built in, but the external one is easier to see. Has to be tuned with two wee grubscrews bearing on the mount to align it properly with the rifle though.

All my scopes have vortex bubble levels attached

A shooter can get away with using the reticle for an approximate vertical for shooting at live quarry at typical short range engagements and at a target area of 4” or so as the error from cant, all though present, is largely insignificant

Off hand I never look at the bubble- don’t have time

With Precision shooting at range or at very small targets, cant is the difference between hit and miss
