Riflecraft LSR1

I spoke to Andrew of Riflecraft last week and had a very interesting and informative chat about the options available for my new LSR 1 in .30-06
I am going to go and visit them at there shop and select exactly which barrel and stock etc. He gave me a time span of 60 days from when I choose what options I want to physically picking it up. That will include threading the barrel for mod and sending it away to be proofed. Costs are looking more around £1,000 than £800 but the stainless barrel and threading adds to the cost.
They will shoot it and anything that doesn’t make under1/2 inch grouping isn’t sold.
It just seems a far better option to out of the box factory rifles.

Thats if they actually deliver it on time. Just ask around to see what their actual delivery dates are like.

Hi Miles

What is the exact spec’ of the rifle, make and model of the barrel, stock and trigger ect. If you do go ahead it would be interesting if you could give the members of the forum a diary of how thing went.

Just been on about Remmy 7's in the 'Stalking vs Technology' thread. I've booked a long range shooting course with riflecraft, they seem okay.
The LSR comes from a good pedegree and is a very good basic rifle, no frills just a good working tool. The American forces and law enforcement still use the Remmy 7 for sniping (yes they also use other rifles). It worked very well for them in the Vietnam war in the most trying of environments. If I had the cash I would give it ago!

Don't you mean remmy 700 the remmy 7 or seven is slightly different.

Thar,

i would be more than happy to share how the process with Riflecraft goes.
i hope to get down there beginning of next week, so will fill you in on all the detail afterwards.

I did stress to Andrew that i needed it by the beginning of Aug and he was adamant that it would be done with in 60 days at the latest.
But we shall see!!

Regards
Miles

Have you received the rifle yet and is it all you expected?

Dave

Well I have to confess that I have not ordered it yet. I just thought that in all probability it would not be ready in time and actually I don’t want to rush into buying anything too quickly. I was looking forward to the CLA Game fair so I could have a good look at what is available out of the box but that never happened and what with work and one thing and another I just have not got round to making a decision. I am however intending to go and talk through the options with Andrew in the next couple of weeks. I was going to on the bank holiday but they were closed!

CANNOT FAULT RIFLECRAFT OR THEIR PRODUCT
DEALT WITH THEM OVER MANY YEARS

BEEN ON THE MODULE TRAINING COURSES
WELL RUN GOOD VFM

PRODUCTS
THEIR STANDARD ONES LOOK AND SHOOT GOOD !
THEY MADE ME A BESPOKE BROWNING WHICH DOES THE JOB
FANCY AN AICS VERSION NEXT

i can sort of understand why a very new shooter could benifit from a course such as Riflecraft and others offer.

But shooting is a perishable skill, if someone tells you how to read the wind you still need a lot of practice to do it. Triggertime is what it,s all about if you have the basic aptitude for it.
