Riots in Leeds

Just watched the news about Leeds last night and I need help to understand something!

We the law abiding, although I am now doubting why I bother, pay our taxes for a police service now it seems they stand down in the face of anarchy!

Please stop the world, I want to get off it....

That was in 1987 when I worked in A&E at St James’s hospital in Harehills.
All of these Giptoids as we called them were born in this country, white Anglo Saxon.

I keep being told what a hard job it is! Parked in a mcdonalds, little bit of rape and murder, few photos of dead kids and ignore crime, seems very stressfull

That was 37 years ago and this wasnt a riot in Gipton.

Once went to Roundhay in the late 80s with a few mates , christ we were terrified as we were the only white people, couldn't believe I was in England more like Africa. Horrible experience never to be repeated.

ok if prisons are crowded ....then what? what deterrent do we have ?

i say bring back the birch ...seriously! or flogging like in Saudi

Police statement is that this was instigated by criminal elements.

When it gets hot and sultry weather in crowded inner city areas of the less advantaged, add in alcohol and a flashpoint can easily trigger street disorder. It happens most years in one place or another. There is often a criminal element behind it, with one group of young men fighting for dominance over another. Religeon, politics, sex, football, drugs, rock and roll v mods etc etc etc.

It is very easy and lazy to blame immigration. I suspect the vast majority involved where born and bred in Leeds.

Last time I looked you have absolutely no control over who your parents are or where you are born.

The vast majority of those individuals were settled Romani travellers. so yes a criminal gang, a culture devolved to a criminal empire now. They may pitch a two bedroom terraced in Leeds, they do not identify as being from Leeds. They largely don’t care for the laws of the land that they choose to settle in. Interestingly they give Romanians a bad name, a lovely country to visit fantastic people although the Romani are generally broad brushed is Romanians they are not a fair reflection of Romanian society.. They could not have been happier than when the EU free movement laws allowed the less desirable elements of the nation to disappear to the U.K. for a nice new house and benefits. If this had happened in Romania and it did, the police would be dealing with the area robustly. Because they have a police force, we have allowed ours to be diluted to barely existing. The Police are not to blame for this mess, the lack of Police. The lack of public order training for all and the lack of money spent in the right places are all to blame. None of this is the choice of the tiny numbers of Police patrolling Leeds on the night. The fact it took hours to activate and call in mutual aid from surrounding forces allowed the city to burn. Will all those responsible be caught and dealt with ? No should they be allowed to remain in the U.K. after this act no, but we will be told that they are not to blame, the lack of jobs, money, diversity opportunities are all to blame. The city will employ three idiots on £200k plus as diversity advisors, they will not have a clue. Nothing will change and in three years time this will happen again.

Chain gangs along the roads for less serious offences, 14 hours a day 7 days a week for the duration... you can't be letting the criminals have the "Whip hand", keep the prisons for the murderers, rapists and corrupt Grubberment officials...
