I’m looking into buying some car rod holders for the upcoming fishing season. Which ones are the best? Suction? Magnetic? Both…? I really don’t want any of my rods disappearing off the bonnet as I’m driving along .
Spartan make some. I'm not a fisherman so haven't looked into them in detail but I've seen plenty of pictures. If they're anything like the rest of their kit they should be decent and innovative, if expensive.
of course but only two cars are unable to take it magnetic holders
first aluminium its delorean from "back to de future"
second VW Trabant
I didn't seen any anglers with "super cars" because there is sooo low suspension its simply unable to drive in
only mighty land-rover its option with "straps"
but suction cups dont work for long for any car if its bit dusty or dirty under vibration you can lost rods worthy hundreds or eaven thousands
it is worthy?

I’ve had both suction and magnetic rod holders for probably 30 years, using them to carry multiple salmon and trout rods along riverside tracks, rocky lodge roads and major roads.
I favour the suction models as, however careful you are, the magnetic ones scratch the paintwork.
I’ve never had the suction ones come off, but you do need to ensure that the area where they are being attached is smooth and relatively clean. I check them by hand each morning when attached, but never had any issues.
