Roe calls

Bit of a “tackle tart” for Roe calls.
What do you use ?
Current collection, lots more been and gone over the years. Including a small wooden reed call given to me by a Swiss friend. Never saw another one like it Called 7 different bucks with it in 10 days, stupidly showed it to everyone. It was always hanging from the wing mirror in my Land rover until it mysteriously disappeared. Always had my suspicions it was over 30 years ago and the alleged culprit still knows I know.

I use a Buttalo. Most of the time I'm actually able to stalk into a buck visually, so don't need to call all that often

I use a Clausen Roe deer call Pro and have had brilliant results. That said still have the buttallo in my pocket during the rut and both calls produce results.
Best results come from choosing a good shooting position, take your time learning how to use the calls and have confidence, good luck 🤞🏻

First season using Clausen calls last year had excellent results but like above still have buttalo in pocket, never had any success with the cherry wood call.

These seem handy as you can call whilst still having hands on the rifle. But, I couldn’t see any uk suppliers last time I looked?

I use Buttolo and Helen Baud roe call from Decathlon with similar results. Sometimes self made call from piece of aluminum tubing.

Cherry wood call arrived today so went out with it on evening dog wall. Doe on grass field immediately head up and walked towards us after 3 peeps.
200yds up lane overlooking field where I saw the fox and munty 6 peeps and a munty leaping though the adjacent barley. Unbeknown to me big roe buck rocked up in the field across the lane behind me! Partner gob smacked as she watched it.
So it works rather well!

Is anyone familiar with this call? Can't for the life of me remember where I got it from. Makes some lovely sounds and I'm looking forward to giving it a go. Just had a count up from my roe calling bag, 22 in total. Think I've a slight problem...

I find the Nordic roe is most versatile from loud agony calls to soft pheeps. I don’t change the band positions but manipulate with mouth. Takes a bit of practice but easy enough
