Roe/muntjac - Kent

Hi,

I’m not sure of the best section to post this in.

My ground holds fallow only - hence the request.

Our local scout group (which I volunteer for) are holding a 24hr survival camp on 21/22 June. They want to do some proper scouting and cook on an open fire from scratch, including if I can sort it skinning a small deer, basic butchery, and cooking it.

I’m hoping to source a roe or muntie for this purpose, however I don’t have local connections who are (within reason) able to guarantee a carcass.

Is anyone on SD local to Kent able to help with a carcass which will be ready to skin/butcher on 21 June? I’m happy to pay (using my own money) for the carcass in order to introduce the scouts to the world of deer stalking and venison.

Thanks

Just a public thank you to @SussexSteve for assisting with a roe carcass - and to demo how a donation to a suitable scout camp can promote venison.

Pretty much all kids got hands on with the processing including the more squeamish - finishing by cooking their groups rations over an open fire.

Many had never had venison before - but seemingly all really enjoyed it…. future customers hopefully 🤞

Just seen this request so very well done to the supplier of the beast and the Op for his efforts to promote the consumption of, and 'engagement' with, a roe carcass by a Scout Troup.

Well done to all involved. Its great to see kids learning where there food comes from and hopefully will encourage them all to eat more venison (and get their parents to as well). 👍
