Hey folks,
Just wondering if anyone has used the above powder in 375 H&H.
Alliant don't list it at all in their load data for 375H&H, but RS list it for both 250 and 300 grain bullets.
I'm looking to put together some loads with Hornady 270 grain SP bullets - more for acclimatising myself to the rifle than for anything else really. For hunting around where I live I'm planing on working up some cast loads, and for actual DG hunting I would want a different bullet, probably 300 grain.
I never intended the RL17 to be for this project, I got it when what I really wanted was IMR4350, but the only shop near me with reloading components only had that - and Alliant sort of imply that you can use it as a substitute for IMR4350. I didn't, so I have it doing nothing. (I've since found a much better shop too).
Taking the RS load data as a guide; 72.5 and 67.9 start grains for 250 and 300 grain bullets respectively, I was thinking of starting somewhere in the low 70s for a 270 grain bullet.
FWIW - brass is PPU and primers are Win LRM.
Anyone with thoughts or experience - please share it!
