ruger 1022

Yes no problem but is this something we can do face to face as I'd hate to get something wrong and have you screw up a £600 stock Duncan.

lol its £50 for the side panels off here second hand and £20 of aly Box tubing (which makes 2 chassis) ;)

You are a very talented man!

What do you need? I will take the dims for you when I strip it down to do the trigger job. (Will all be imperial though)

You could have just built it into a Nerf gun!

Just been watching the YouTube videos and most jobs seem really easy imo.

Just need to get my FAC back and then find a cheap secondhand package to work on now I think.

Hairy the first time you take apart the trigger group so go slow and take photos but "lemon squeezy" once you are familiar with the assembly.

This is on a Ruger Model 96/22 I fitted a M-77/22M barrel to. It's the same band so you will get the idea.~Muir

now that I like !!!
so this week I think I,ll fill some time by floating the barrel and chopping one of the barrel bands and then go have a play see if it makes any difference ........

time to go onto youtube see whats on for lightening the trigger pull

OR....................is there anyone in the north east area capable of doing what is nessasery to lighten the trigger ??? for some beer tokens

Another nice thing about the 10/22 is several manufactures selling aftermarket bull barrels which are really a regular barrel with an integral suppressor. Likewise for the MkII 22 pistol, a compete upper receiver/barrel replacement.

I don't think I would take it apart if I bought a cheap used one, I would just buy a new unit and slot it I think.

And well known malfunctions on these as they age?

The 10/22 trigger group is a solid performer. Seriously don't let me put you off. There is no need to replace the whole thing. Just go steady, remove the sear and stone the interface with the trigger, ensuring you keep it square.

If you get stuck then PM me and I will talk you through. It's a shame you aren't closer for me to help you.

I bought one not so long ago. Near all the work was done but I still needed to do my bit to it.
This was how it was in colour. I didn't like it so cerakote was applied.

The bolt was standard so a bit of filing and polishing to smooth things out a little.

After

This is the after.

All I'm miffed with is the rail. No matter what scope or mounts I try I still run out of elevation so would like to find an alternative rail rather than packing the scope ring up.

You need a set of lower rings mate.

The synthetic stocks drop off sharply. I'm surprised that with rings that far off the bore you can get a cheek weld at all.

Educated guess there is a lot of Volquartzen in that trigger group.

The scope and rings have been replaced. They where on it when I bought, now theres a cheap mamba with low rings on top. Still have the problem is having to pack the rear up.
Trigger is near all volquartzen. As well as the may release and Bolt hold back. The bolt its self was bad so rounded over and polished. Lovley rifle to use and with the recoil buffer replaced it makes for a good little short barrel that works sweet with night vision add-on.

Hi Activeviii, Nice rifle, I am about to start the same project and I suspect using the same book as you. Is that a Hogue stock and where did you get it from please?
Regards
Steve

Funnily enough I bought a Hogue stock from eBay over the weekend! Rimfire Magic are out of Hogue stocks for the 10/22 at the moment.
