Apparently , the successful bidders on Remingtons assets have been announced . Ruger has purchased the rights to Marlin Firearms , Sierra now owns Barnes Bullets , Vista is now running Remingtons ammo manufacturing and Franklin bought the rights to Bushmaster . We'll see how this shakes out , hopefully Ruger will restore Marlins quality to what it used to be .............. but I bet they'll cost more , time will tell .

Actually , there was no mention of Remington production rifles like Model 700's , 7's , 760's etc , in the article . I don't know if this means that a new company under the Remington banner , like Winchester did with USRAC , will be producing rifles or that all Remington models will no longer be manufactured . I'm thinking the former is more likely , that's a lot of manufacturing capability , and market share , to walk away from . We'll see I guess .

Maybe this will finally cure new Marlins of gremlins. As to Barnes this will be interesting to watch. Depending on who runs Remington I may finally after three returns for repair have my 870 express cured once and for all. Dam thing sticks locked up now and then. Never in thousands of rounds fired did any USMC or USN owned 870 fail .duringduring my time in unfiro

Main thing is that the manufacturers will keep going - I love my Marlin and I use Remmy ammo in it, so it would have been a bit of a bugger to say the least if they had disappeared!

Doesn't the link in post #5 suggest that Roundhill Group LLC will be the preferred bidder for non Marlin firearms?

If Ruger do buy Marlin it could mean that Ruger finally get to produce a decent underlever.:stir:

You're right , it does seem to suggest that . I was wondering why it wouldn't just say previous Remington production firearms if that was what they meant . Again , we'll see in the months ahead .

I think the big news here is that Sierra have picked up a load of non-lead bullet production / tech / market share - probably good news for them.

Be interesting to see what happens with the UK Importers / Distributors. Currently Marlin is with Raytrade, Ruger sits under Viking wonder if something will move.
