Ruger restarting Marlin production

Some good news for anyone who likes Marlin lever actions ( like me ) . Ruger has announced it will be resuming production of Marlin rifles in the third quarter of 2021 . They haven't said what models or if there will be a change in any of the model types , but Ruger isn't afraid of trying new things . It could be interesting . We've had Marlins , then Remlins , now we have Ruglins .

Ruger should do an ok job of it! :thumb:
They should , their quality control is higher than Remingtons was during their ownership of Marlin , even though it did improve towards the end of its production . Marlin is a known name and a , potentially , good earner . As long as they don't play around too much with the core product , they should do well , time will tell .

I have a heavy barrel Marlin SQ 880 .22 very happy with it from the year dot .
A really good rifle . It doesn't get mentioned much , but Marlin made some really nice 22lr's . Their line of semi autos , like the 99/990 , were reliable and accurate rifles . I've always preferred them over Rugers 10/22 . The model 39s in particular are very nice rimfires .

No . I leave the safety in place . I remove the butt stock , push the safety to fire and tighten the safety set screw that's mounted in the rear of the receiver . It is where the spring and ball detent sits that provides tension on the safety to hold it in the fire or safe positions . It doesn't solve any cosmetic issues , but it does ensure that you won't forget to disengage it before firing .
