Marlin Firearms on track for end of year release

I reached out to Marlin yesterday to get any updates they would be willing to share regarding product release from their Mayodan, North Carolina facility. They indicated that they are continuing to refine their designs, machining processes & assembly operations and it's all progressing very well.

They anticipate they will meet their commitment to ship new Marlin rifles by the end of the year. They also noted that they hope to be releasing both, stainless and blued models in their initial offerings! Sounds like a Christmas wish list & certainly in time for the 2022 SHOT Show January 18 - 21.

I wasn't sure how many of you have been following the Ruger buyout of Marlin from Remington back in September 2020 however we have really missed the Marlin brand here in the states. So happy to see they will be back in production very soon.

Right? All of my Marlin lever actions are JM original however I'm ready to buy a Marlin from Ruger if they release a model of interest to me.

The JM Marlins I had were .325 and .44 1894. The 'Remlin' was an .45-70 1895SBL that I just really liked the way it looked ... the slight iffy quality got taken of with a number of fixes/mods. It would be good if Ruger make sure they come out with the original quality though!

Was shooting my 1894 .44 Mag 'Remlin' yesterday, one of the later and nicer ones. It will be good to see what Ruger do with the brand and models, I expect good things.

I know Wild West Guns will convert your Marlin but the price is eye-watering...

I've owned three 1894 Marlins all used for gallery rifle though the .44 was on ticket for deer also. They were O.K. and pretty much the only way you could shoot gallery rifle in competition other than using a Mateba or a Alfa Proj, but I can't say that I am a great fan of them. I would hope that Ruger take a look at making them a bit more robust than Marlin did.

I have a Marlin 336C , a Remlin 1895G and I'm looking forward to buying a Ruglin . Ideally , a nice little 336 in 35 Rem . Hopefully they work with Lipseys and produce some oddball rifles just for fun , like they've done with the Ruger No 1s . A nice octagon barrelled 38/55 would be very cool .

I'd love an octagon 38-55! The 1895G is my favorite, I have several.

I've got an 1895 'Remlin' in 45/70 I pilfered from @alberta boy; maybe a rarity but shoots really well. Such a snappy rifle with a good 'bite'.

I would think that with Ruger producing the biggest selling .22 rimfire in the world resurrecting any of the Marlin .22 semi-autos is probably quite low on their list of priorities. A pity really as they had one or two very good models.

This is an area we're all waiting to see what they do. Of course their Ruger 10-22 is a big competitor and they indicated the only thing they'll be shipping this year is center fire rifles. We're all hoping they'll bring back the model 39, 22 rimfire but silence on that as well.

yerr, it would be nice to see a couple of resurrected models, but something new would be nice as well ? Might be wishful thinking ......?

It would be nice if they brought back the 795/ 60 series , great little rifles . I prefer them to the 10/22 , which , if you think about it , doesn't bode well for their reintroduction .

Unfortunately , like the Winchester 9422 , the Model 39 requires a lot of manufacturing time and tooling . The retail price on them would probably be pretty high and would shrink the market considerably . I hope they do bring the 39 back , but I'm a bit doubtful that they will . We'll see I guess .

Apart from there lever actions I don,t see them making much else, there market in bolt actions /semi autos lately was not that great fighting for the low end market a bit like Winchester.
