s&b help

Hi Guys,

I have an s&b 8x56 hungarian. It has the no 7 ret with the really thick cross hair. Fine for stalking but when zeroing at 100 yards it almost blocks out the target.

Was just wondering if i can have the ret changed on this? if so who does it and whats the rough cost?

Cheers Rob

Why change the reticle, why not just use a target with a suitable aiming mark? In my experience most shooters tend to use targets that are too small to be clearly seen with stalking scopes. Use a target with a large enough aiming mark and your eye will automatically centre the reticle over a larger aiming mark, in fact its not unknown to use a plain sheet of paper for such tasks.

bob.

i used a negative of a black cross, so you end up with 4 black squares in each corner with the whit cross section clear in the center, then as you line up your ret it becomes a complete black box,

used it a few times in the army when i was training

Great idea - one for the memory banks, that.
