Sako .222 50 gr Gamehead

Are you having misfires in the same rifle with other ammunition? Do the primers look to be seated particularly deep in the primer pocket? I would be amazed if that is the case but stranger things have happened.

I reload for mine, mainly used as a vermin/pest control rifle but I always have a couple of the 50g SP's from Sako in my pocket in case a Munty wanders in to view. They have always been fairly accurate and certainly well put together ammunition. I wonder if you have an issue with your firing pin or some part of your rifle?

I’ve tried some home loads from a pal as well as some hornady and they fire just fine no the primers look to be seated ok I’m thinking maybe a bad batch of primers ?

That is quite dangerous (using someone elses loads) ..... however it does seem to point towards a faulty batch - rare i'd say .... take them back to where you bought them.
And avoid using A N Others home loads ....

It’s the same load I worked up for my rifle many mood ago before I went to factory ammo again so I know it’s safe ....

I reload now for both my .222’s but when I started I bought 200 rounds of sako 50g sp’s, both rifles ( Tikka m590 and Cz527)loved them so when I’d shot the factory rounds I used the brass to reload 40g v-max which is my vermin round, now I always have 5 or 6 boxes of factory in the safe just in case, I must over the years have shot many hundreds of them without a single problem, as an aside I was in Devon last week and popped into lads guns at Crediton, they had 11 boxes on the shelf, as a bulk buy price I was offered them at £18 a box so I bought the lot, it’s a win win for me as I will end up with another 220 fire formed brass, PM your number for a chat, if you are close enough and you decide you’re not happy with them I’ll have the remaining rounds off of you ?

Hi there, I’ve never had a misfire with either the game head soft nose Sako 222, or their 222 ballistic tip 50 grammars. I’ve fired about 150 so far without a single problem. I’ve had misfires in 243 hornady but not the Sako 222 ammunition. I bought my rounds from Northallerton guns and Mcleods.

(PS - I can’t find 50g 222 game head bullets to home load - if anyone knows of any, please let me know).

Thanks
