Sold: Sako 75 - Bolt de-cocking thingamabob

Having recently dismantled my two Sako 75 bolts, it strikes me that life would be so much easier with one of those de-cocking thingamabobs when putting the bolt back together again.

Anyone got one sitting in a drawer that is in need of a new home?

I have one kicking around somewhere

OK.

So it turns out this was a lie.

I emailed Sako directly yesterday (they are based down in Hampshire) and was delighted to get a reply.

These thingamabobs are no longer made by Sako and the author of their email thinks they have been 'discontinued'.

So, for a cheeky 'one time only' bump - anyone found one they no longer need?

I made one out of a piece of teakwood. Worked 👍 then I found the original.
It was a simple thing to knock up.
Yeah...

"Simple thing to knock up"...

I did woodwork at school (Borstal is such an ugly word), everything I made looked like kindling...

Personally I have never found this a problem with a bit of cloth to save my delicate digits, however, if you must have one they are a fiver.

I borrowed a Sako bolt tool from a friend as I was going to clean and inspect both my Sako bolts. I started with the 30-06, as being bigger it would be less fiddly. The tool worked a dream and it was apart in seconds. The bolt was very clean and so a quick wipe over and I put it back together. To be more exact, I tried to put it back together. Four hours later I had it back in working order. I did not do the bolt on my 222. I gave the tool back and promised myself that I would never borrow it again. Do not believe anyone who says its easy !

@Ozalid

OK.

Thanks to the magic of the www and the kindness of Mrs.S62 - a couple of these 'bad boys' are inbound.
