just bought a sako 85 243 what loads is anybody on here using to get the required ftlb going on what im shooting 44grs of n160 im only getting about 1620 ftlb any help would be appreciated thanx forgot to say its 20 inch barrell

Paul, I use N560 for my 85 .243 you need to check but around 43.5 g if my memory serves me right. Bullet is 100 gr speer grandslam .

i am shooting the sameish gun as you 20" Sako 85 varmint check out this site its data is for 20"&22" barrels

my favorite loads for deer (fallow) are
1/ 85gr TSX ,38gr Varget /48gr RL19 .Rem 9 1/2 primer
2/ 85gr Sierra HPBT 38grVarget /48gr RL19, Rem 9 1/2 primer

i found the Varget and RL19 loads with the TSX or HPBT give the same POI and no deer has stayed on its feet for more than 5 seconds after being hit ,most go down very quick.
