Sako AV

Sako switched over to CNC production about 1985, which was a good time, as there were better controls coming on line then, with graphics, memory, hard drives, common languages...big improvement from punch tape and arcane, proprietary, cryptic programming languages.

Example of how a rebarreled AV shoots - not fully sorted yet, but its a good start.

275 Rigby by the way.

Yes I refinished it.

Peter viatores (from the site) added the ebony for end cap for me.

The whole rifle has been stripped to component parts, refurbished by me, rebarrelled by me, replaced by a friend who sub contacts to the better english shotgun makers and now is stunning to look at and very accurate.

Very nice sir!
I want to strip the stock on mine and darken the grain of the wood I think the ebony end cap would be a great addition too

Yesterday, I found an old but pristine Sako Riihimaki Vixen in .222 and that signature blonde maple stock. If it had been .223, she would have come home with me.

I know I am. The .222 is a wonderful cartridge. I just cannot justify it, with the other .223s in my arsenal. Logistics, you know. I really had to fight the urge, though, especially for the price, $750.00 asking.
