SAKO facory ammo - Soft Nose Bullet Damage

Hi All. Using Sako 100gr GamePoint in my T3 243. Standard 3 mag and seem to be getting some damage to point as shown. Anyone come across this before? Thinking my only way of checking is to buy a new mag? Noticed a couple previously which I then fired at the range and were about 1" out at 100yds so nothing conclusive, but just concerned as to why its happening and what the effects might be. I am careful when loading/unloading and storing so know these haven't been dropped or knocked. Any advice appreciated (and please don't say move up to a proper calibre 🤣) Also noticed on close up the sightly different setting of the bullet - apologies but I'm no expert on this and always use factory ammo20250316_170850.webp

This may be a very stupid question, but are they "mint" coming out of the box or has that been dropped from a height onto a hard surface?

David.

Tip deformity when chambering or recoil in the mag box, I do not recall seeing that in my 243 however in the last 20 years all of my projectiles have had plastic tips.

It's caused by recoil, the front of the mag impacts the noses as the rifle recoils.
Often made worse by weak magazine springs.
Even plastic tipped bullets can show this.
It's often a good idea to remove such rounds from the mag and use them for practice. I always put a fresh round on top when loading a mag for stalking in my Ruger 308's.
Doesn't happen in my Steyr Mannlicher prohunters!

Not a stupid question at all, I did check this and yes all mint coming out of box.

I'll try chambering a few and see what results are
