Coal should be the same as standard 243win. Who is going to rebarrel it
Steve kershaw , yeah I'm hoping it will be OK. If not might be 6mm cmCoal should be the same as standard 243win. Who is going to rebarrel it
Exactly thisOr if 243Win has worked fine so far, just rebarrel it with a 1-8" twist and keep on carrying on.....
Yeah that's what he saidIt's most like because of the sharper shoulder angle of the AI. 6 Creedmoor should be fine.
I've got thermal on a 22 2 50 remi solely as a foxing tool, looking for something for mostly day work22-250ai would be a belting fox rifle
Yeah he seems have a good reputationSteve does all my work. It should be perfect
I had a 243 AI on a Sako A2 ( same action other than bolt shroud and trigger hanger). It fed perfectly. He said something about it might not feed cause of length of bullet, I've to send the rifle down and he will have a look.but not looking likely.
Doubt that. Even if he was right, you could use a shorter bullet. I wonder if he only has a reamer with extremely long throat for very heavy for calibre bullets. He said something about it might not feed cause of length of bullet, I've to send the rifle down and he will have a look.but not looking likely.
Yeah the 6mm is looking alot more appealing,243ai is brilliant but definitely doesn’t feed as easily as 243. Question is do you treat reloading as a hobby or a chore?.. work up a fireforming load then do it all again with a fireformed case (or fireform using c.o.w method but will still be firing off primers and a different tub of powder to your actual loads). You can get a a bit more speed of of the ai loads but if you loose any cases in the undergrowth it feels like you’ve lost a limb. I love mine and currently use it with 75gr vmax for foxing etc and 103eldx for everything else.
Will have a better idea next week but think I'll go with the 6mmI had a 243 AI on a Sako A2 ( same action other than bolt shroud and trigger hanger). It fed perfectly.
Or ignore that, shoot stuff with your fireforming load using affordable brass such as PPU and have what you really want.Yeah the 6mm is looking alot more appealing,![]()
Would that be Stewart Reid at Wildcat Composites ? He lives down the road from me and is a very old friend of mine . You'll like the stock .I was given one recently, thought the action was really nicely made, they have a massive cult following in the US and Scandinavia
I'm having mine done in 6XC and found a Canadian composites company who are making an ultralight stock for it.
if you're interested in a pre-loved fluted Border Barrel in .308 I'll put you in touch with the RFD I gave it to.
yes it is.Would that be Stewart Reid at Wildcat Composites ? He lives down the road from me and is a very old friend of mine . You'll like the stock .
