For Tim not losing his sleep, over me not starting threads, here's one.

Sako seems to have leaped to deep end with their new Optisup Pro moderator. Manufactured by Vanward, but details not public.

Seems to be more or less Hunter Pro, with added ~25% price. Favorable reviews, but you will only expect that when people who's paycheck is dependant of Sako's good will are reviewing... I don't doubt the product compares favorably to much cheaper alternatives, since Oceania Defence (seems they cannot decide whether to spell with "c" or "s") did so and it was like 10y ago

1095 Euro for Sako

9790 NOK / 850 Euro for Vanward

Glad you made the effort. 10/10:tiphat:

I suspect the average buyer won’t know or see it’s white label, and many will buy as a ‘set’ with a rifle, maybe even with trust the threads have been perfectly mated and proofed together as a set. Removes the risk of buying a moderator and finding the factory threads are a poor fit. Also, there might be warranty benefits if sold together and one fails and damages the other part.

Roedale does this for Steel Action, and (name?) for Mauser for example.

It seems like the struggling/failing
Moderator manufacturers of yesteryear are going white label to rifle manufacturers- and this might be a good strategy.

I suspect vanward will be asked for an exclusive if the last no becomes too obvious and public knowledge, and direct sales removed.

Personally, I imagine that many rifles of big brands will be supplying their own white label mods, proofed as a set within long. Their power play to force this will be using the warranty as to whether xyz is covered, a bit like they do with reloading
