Sako Sako L61/L61R? action - stock torque fiures/suggestions

Hi All

Rinse and repeat as they say......

I have a Beretta 602 rifle (in 0.270W), and understand from some 'drilling' on Tinternet, that this uses one of the above actions (I dont know the difference and would be grateful for any information?). Beretta themselves have not replied to my questions. I need to put the action back to the stock.

So, what torque should be applied to the action screws fore and aft?

Advice, direction or suggestions welcome?

Beretta 602??! Never heard of this.

Do you mean Brno 602?

If Brno - very very different action to the sako

If you must use a wrench, set them both to 36 in/lb but torque front 80% first, then rear 80%, then front 100, then rear 100

At the time these were made, the screws at factory level were hand tightened, so you’ll only find guidance based on what other owners do.

Personally, I think torque wrenches are a bit unnecessary if you know how screws ‘should’ feel

If your asking about the Sako L61/ L61R then I’ve settled on 36"lbs for the action screws on mine.
As per thread heading?
These guns were made pre Beretta

Triggertrix - it is a Beretta 602, a few were made and brought in by DJ Litts many years ago, and seem to be a Sako L61/L61R action (suggested by Sako Collectors Forum) with 'Beretta' on the barrel and on a disc on the forend of the stock. Originally owned by MJE? of this Parish.

Steve/P - thank you for your indicated figures - will help me move forward.

That’s interesting! I suppose Sako also sold the FN High Power as ‘Sako High Power’.
