Sauer 202 Barrel Change

hi BBRC just looking to confirm that if i have a sauer 202 currently in .223 that a 22-250 barrel would work with the current bolt. my .223 barrel has become very pitted and as an option i was trying to get a second hand .223 barrel or if the 22-250 would fit the bolt i would consider that option as well.

the 223 bolt face would be different to the 22/250 one, your 223 bolt and mag would only work with 223 sized cases.
It is possible to have a new 223 barrel put in to your rifle.
Also I know someone who is after a 223 bolt and mag so If you want a change, drop me a pm if that is something you would be interested in doing.
if you do decide to go down the route of a change of case/caliber
It works like this:-
3 lug bolt with small (0.378”) bolt face- 223 or 222
3 lug bolt with standard (0.470”) bolt face - 22/250 and 243
6 lug bolt with standard (0.470”) bolt face - 308, 6.5x55, 6.5x57, 25/06, 270, 30-06 etc
Mags go:-
223/222 mag
22/250, 243 and 308 mag
6.5x55/25-06/270/30-06/8x57 mag

The other option is ask Steve kershaw, he has some stubs in and would be able to make you one if you ask him.

His work is top quality and would recommend him to anyone (also makes a good brew)
