Thought i'd share my new (to me) toy - very proud of it. Yet to get a shot with it as in the market for a scope at the moment (don't be shy if you are selling BTW! - quicker i get the right addition the better!)

Gorgeous piece of kit. Couldn't be happier.

Other .308 rifle is a Sako M591 - the bolt action comparison is just incomparable - the Sauer's Bolt action is the smoothest I personally have ever experienced. And as for weight. Couldn't get over how light it is.

There is a set trigger installed on it (not sure if this is standard or not?) first time using one. gave it a dry shot to test it out. gave me that funny feeling in my nethers. Seller said this was set to 6oz.

Cannot wait to get out with this puppy and see how she shoots. Heard nothing but great things about them.

ha aye my dad was saying to my uncle "sure hes not gonna wanna come out with it now" lol first mark i get is gonna break me lol

Lovely rifle Donni - tis a pity we have to keep them secure - that's the sort of rifle you would want to take to bed !!

Not sure if the plan is to use it for stalking, if so, I would be a little concerned about having a stalking rifle with such a light trigger especially in the winter when fingers can get cold. My stalking rifle is just under 2 lbs pull and I feel that this may be a little on the light side.

Buy a set of rifle chaps for it, so you can hunt and protect it.
And buy a waterproof gun slip, like one for waterfowl hunting. Carry it in that, over the shoulder, until the final stalk.

I have a Sauer Elegance but in 30-06 with grade 4 wood with thumb hole stock and heavy fore-end. I also have a Sauer Classic 243 with synthetic stock and love them both.

d0nni ! You know that the trigger on your 202 is fully adjustable with a little hexagon key, it´s a little screw by the trigger guard.

Nice I'm a 202 addict. Get those mounts changed though they look ugly as sin get some Apels far more elegant. Like buying a Ferrari and gluing on an aftermarket spoiler with those on it.

The only purpose I see for Apel mounts is for quick release to use the iron sights, and return to zero later. If your rifle does not have iron sights, you might as well use Leupold sculpted bases and rings or Burris rings on the existing cross slot bases. And if you are going to use quick release rings with iron sights, the Warne and Leupold rings work very well in the cross slot bases; in fact, Weaver makes a nice, heavy set of QR rings in high gloss which work very well.

Hi Stumac

I've got myself a set of Recknagel bases and mounts thanks though. if these dont do the job let me know sure.

Thanks,

Andrew

Konnari only saw your text about the trigger. I think I'm going to keep the set trigger as it is. The main trigger was 3.5lb. I've lowered it down to ~2lb. Should be fine for winter shooting. The sako trigger was around 2lb.

Beautiful:-D. Only one thing wrong, it's right handed:stir:! For the uninformed the 202 has a set trigger which is activated by pushing it forward, de-activated by firing or lifting the bolt handle. Really a great attribute when target shooting or in a high seat, but a bit iffy on foot especially free-handed:doh:. Great to look at and fire, enjoy.

I've yet to fire it! Lol had it 2 weeks and it's teasing me! Was playing about with what scope I wanted for it. Was going to go mid range then thought fk it. Good rifle deserves a good scope . Waiting on a swarovski z6i 2.5-15x56 BT coming. Hopefully have it for the weekend

Good scope
Have you fired it yet?

stumac - no lol still waiting on the scope - should have it this week all going well. Easter break has delayed everything. Having to get it posted from the factory

Love my 202, I have both the synthetic and wood stock and have to admit I love the wood but am too worried i'll mark it as most of my shooting it lamping or highseat.

Regards,

Gixer

Lovely! Sauer rifles are darn nice, I shot my first ever deer with a Sauer in .25-06.

Much as I know that rifle will never be mine and I know Paul has many great memories of his own with it, it will always have a special place in my memories as well :)

Plus you got it in .308 which as we all know is the best caliber ;)

Enjoy the new toy!
