Sold: Sauer 202 synthetic XT .243

Great rifle I have one and the same caliber, I like the safety catch and it’s very accurate. I now also have 2 404’s love a Sauer

Great rifles - the 202’s are engineering masterpieces and far nicer than the 404’s…

Have a bump!
Having both 404’s and a 202 they are both very well engineered, I prefer the safety on the 404. I also worked out now to swap the Thumbhole stock off my 404 in 300 wm ( Which I use for trips abroad) on to my 404 in 243 fits perfectly

The safety was the specific reason I avoided the 404, the requirement to operate it a certain way otherwise you get a very audible “click”…the 202 safety is silky smooth and completely silent.

The 404’s are still great looking and functioning rifles but just not as good as the 202 in my opinion, 👍🏻

There is hardly any click when you cock the 404 and the upside is that it’s the safest method on a rifle as you are cocking the firing pin so the rifle can never ND. Interestingly on the new 505 (Circa £1K cheaper) the cocking mechanism has been improved and made easier to push

The one’s I’ve tried were the same as a Blaser, the “click” is if you don’t push towards the action as you push the safety/cocker upwards, and it definitely clicked. But hey, I’m sure it can be operated around.

I just prefer the system of the 202, although the built in tool in the 404 Is good but I with Sauer had included standard sling studs on the bottom of both the 202 and 404.
