Its a few months off for reds in Victoria,sambar season is open to any that want to be in the bush though.I rolled a fat one a week or so back and had three cold at 6.15 am yesterday morning while they were feeding.Unfortunately it was a dull overcast morn andthe light was poor under the forest canopy for pics,not so with the Swaro`s of course.I was tempted by the very fat spikey side on @ 80 yards but the thought of getting a 400 LB deer out of the bush didnt appeal.... a lucky day for him.

i have been looking tonight to see if theres one to go in season,saw nothing red just four fat sambar pigs in velvet feeding together.
