Saw for gralloching/breastbone etc

the estate I lease and ones I work for or i look after, have a no footprint policy, my making, you leave a glove or gralloch on the ground you wouldn’t be asked back again, everything regardless is either re cycled or incinerated to keep environmental impact to a bare minimum, when i go to other estates I operate to what they have as their policy and there is some very different views as to levels of working you will find, I do my bit that’s what counts for me
Good to know . Shame more are not the same. If we all did our bit it would make a difference.
Like you I try and do my bit.
Happy Christmas.

No, butcher's bone saws work on the push stroke.
It's only breast saws for use in the field that cut on the pull stroke, so that you're pulling the debris out of the carcass, rather than dropping it in.
I have a kam loc bone saw always mount the
blade with the teeth facing towards me so that it cuts on the pull stroke.

Keep it cheap and do what we do .. buy wood saw for £8 and if you have a grinder with a thin cuttting disc chop it in half with the cut at an angle going back from the teeth to the handle about 30degree . It will last a long time if you keep it clean .

Another vote for the DS rip saw on the pull stroke. I asked for yellow handle on mine to match my other larder knives. I mean, who wants one in red to get lost in all the carp!
