Hi chaps

Looking into buying a 2.5x10x56 illuminated SB . Wondering is the zenith worth the extra 200 pounds ??

I thinks it's the development / manufacturing of the different tube shape that makes up most of the cost . The optics are fantastic anyway ! Perhaps a new coating on the lens ?

I had a 3-12x50 classic and have a 3-12x50 ZenithFD.
The Zenith is almost the weight of my 6-24x56 Kahles tactical the Classic is much lighter.
Advantage for Zenith would be the flash dot and that i noticed less internal reflection
when looking in direction of a low sun. Objects in shady areas could be recognised quicker.
I don't think I'll buy another Zenith, just too heavy for what it is.
Optics and FD7 recticle is lovely though.
The classics are pure sturdy work horses.

Have the zenith on all mine - can't find fault with any of em, robust, brilliant glass and a cracking illuminated reticle.

Good all rounder

I have a Zenith 3-12x50 FD7. Nice scope, bombproof quality piece of kit. The swedish shooting magazine "Vapentidningen" had an optics test last year and the Classic 2.5-10x56 just pipped the Zenith in light transmission 91-92% (if I remember correctly) as opposed to 89% for the Zenith. The Zenith is shorter and heavier but also has the possibility of a daytime red dot if needed.
