One aspect of a secondary bevel blade design which promotes it above a scandi for extended field use is the ability to dress the edge with a pocket hone without having to return to the workshop. ["V" shaped ceramic rods or similar]
Realistically, scandi grinds are best fettled on larger [flat] waterstones that respect their maker's original edge geometry. Few folk would carry those stones out in their stalking vehicle.
