scopeing a double rifle

Was there any indication of price on the X4 with 'standard' woodwork?

If the £ gains against the Euro in the next few months I can feel a 9.3x74 coming on!

I am about to fit either a aimpoint type sight or a 1.5-4 x 20 Vrx scope on to my Beretta 689 9.3mm x74

When setting the zero up for the scope should I go for the middle of the two shot group or zero off the bottom barrel which fires first.
The rifle shoots point of aim of the bottom barrel and about 2-4" higher and 3" to the right with the top barrel at 70 yards with open sights. :D

Bob, I've used the following on my double rifle Blaser BDB97 in 9.3x74R, open sights, aimpoint micro H1, 1.25-4x24 Swarovski SR and 1.5-6x42 Swarovski SR. My advice is get the closest shooting load at 100m then sight in for the bottom barrel. If you are stalking then your first shot should be good, and only use the second as a follow up. If you are shooting running game in driven hunts then it won't matter if its a few inches out at whatever range less than a 100m because the 9.3 will have the power to put down anything in Europe.

Don't let anybody tell you doubles aren't accurate. Here is the last target of the sxs double in 9.3x74R regulated for 200m using Hornady factory ammo fired by the owner and myself. Looks like I pulled one.

That's a gratifying target, all right, but your first picture is really one to brighten the eye, quicken the pulse, and gladden the heart!

Hi 8x57
I am just shooting home loads 285gr cast boolit gaschecks behind 19rs of trail boss for practice at the moment .I have room in the cases for another 2grs of tb which may help close the grouping a bit in time? .
Bob

Try using a lighter bullet and pushing it to the same velocity as the 285-gr RWS load.
