Well in my part of the world some foxs are v v switched on. If I am stalking in then I put my hand over the eyepiece on my monocular to prevent any over spill. If using my Xsite 5 which I leave on then I put a piece of old sock in the rubber eye piece to block the light. I either use covert IR or laser. Some IR torches are silly bright and easily seen. Tend to agree that if IR is on its better than having a fox coming in and then switching it on.
In some cases some of my foxs on some of my perms will bolt immediately you get standard IR on them suggesting they have been previously shot at. Not by me I would hastened to add.
