Season changes?

What a poor excuse also just shows how little they have ever taken notice when applying for a FAC.

Aye i know, i used to beat with them.
Actually quite decent lads not who id descibe as poachers.
More into the foxes.

Althou to be fair the 1hr sunrise/sunset will be part off the deer act more than Fac conditions.

So how does a chest/shoulder hit ruin so much of the meat? (And whereabouts are you?:norty:)

D.
Shoot enough Muntjac and you will find out!
They hardly stand still then take a few short steps, the H/L area is only a short distance to the greens so half a step just as you squeeze the trigger then it can be green soup.
Also often on an angle facing in to you so what is a neck shot will be half a shoulder.
Use a smaller C/Fire .222 .223 and it will still be just the same if it was a .243 in the above mentioned.

You/me/we sign an FAC which has conditions attached, so when shooting you adhere (or not in your "lads case") to those conditions which unless you have a out of season/night licence, then you FAC follows the deer act which sets out how and what you use. So it is Not fair to wash over that part with 1hr before or 1 past b#####lis :tiphat:

What's needed is a decent campaign to market the meat......I pay £9 a kilo for stewing chunks in my local market, £3-£5 apiece for shanks, depending on size.
Muntjac's a bit cheaper, but they can taste a bit too "gamey" for my taste, unless curried.

D.
Nobody wants venison , it's not in the British culture to eat it.
I shot 3 roe does yesterday and gave them all away.

All the (my) Fallow Red Roe and Sika go in to my local GD with welcome arms.
They sell to the British public also export like the fisherman with shellfish as that is how business is done 🙄

Lucky you , no Game dealers round here.
Get used for dog food mainly , given away or fox bait 👍

Im not justifying it but just wot happens when legal night shooting is going on all around.
Folk that dont consider themselves as stalkers as such dont know its not legal without a licence.

Hell when i 1st started keepering took 5 odd years to find out driving deer to shotguns was not legal on fox drives as all the local estates done it ( apart from mine) and it had been illegal for decades before.
I still know 1 estate that does it even now.

I'm just saying when things become so normalised and common less well informed folk will wrongly persume its legal.
How many shotgun shooters read the GL every year?

There is no reason not to be well informed it is the case of wanting to is ignored or just "presuming"
Just because "others" do it then copying makes it right.
I shoot foxes/rabbits at night but once the last legal light clock has ticked then the deer get a pass.
People let it merge into one then shrug their shoulders just because they can't be a rsed to find out.

Tim is now the shooting police 🤣🤣

Like you I have spent my whole life shooting and take an active interest in laws and current affairs but I have met loads of shooting lads over the years who haven't a clue and are not interested.

A long time ago I was out with a guy stalking and he shot a buzzard off the top of a tree with .243 I was gobsmacked and asked him what the feck he was doing , didn't think it was illegal or dangerous 🤬

Another time a guy was pleased he had shot a Curlew, again had no idea it was illegal until I educated him.

There are a lot of guys who are not particularly clever in the shooting world and don't engage with what's law and how it's ever changing.

Surely you are not that naive Tim as to what goes on ... do you think lurcher boys only catch rabbits 🤣🤣

What I do know is ground and certs are easy lost.

Again you are projecting what and how other people think and do which is a bad habit
Should we re-brand you as Mystic Nick and his crystal balls

What are you jibbering on about ?

I live in the real world, you should try it the Almighty Oracle 🎅

Why can't you carry out targeted culling whilst carrying out night shooting.
Because it is hard to tell the different sexes and age class in a lamp and thermals/night vision are just now getting good enough to sex and even then its at quite close ranges. Also if you are paid as most night shooters are you would not pass a pay check. I have not been out Lamping for a while so not sure how things have really changed.

You need to get out more , ID is pretty easy now with modern thermal and nv.👍

I just love to hear people's blinkered opinions ..good entertainment.

Nick i get out a lot mate thanks. But to make sure we target the correct animals FLS and others would need to change there policy,s. I have a top of the range spotter and cannot identify sex at over one hundred mtr. But i will take your word for it. :tiphat:
