seen first woodcock today

my young pointer found his first woodcock today ,it has been a full gale E-SE for two days ,still he picked up on them in great style they were wild in the wind and didnt hang about ,nice to see them back ,but a shock to think another year has gone by overnight it seems as i saw my first woodcock last year on the same heather bank within yards of the same spot .

Abit further south than yourself and had my first Woodcock on Wednesday. Dog got it up from a rough patch, darting through the wind. Thank god for second shots. Great to see them.
