Shooting over roads

Within 50 feet, so what if your stood a 100 feet from the Road and the Deer your shooting at is a 100 feet the other side? surely the discharge takes place from where your standing? as you say some fancy lawyer that speaks joined up writing will rip it to shreds.

Perfectly legal in Scotland. The only aspect to be aware of is that you should not cause alarm to other persons

Surly you need permission from the land owner to shot over their land. How do you get permission from whoever owns the road?

Unless the land was bought by the highway authority to build the road, the boundary of the land at the side of the road is the centre of the road.

Is it not? I thought over a public road that would count as the round leaving your boundary?

Not necessarily, many roads are public rights of way over otherwise private land

Like much of British law, nothing is that straightforward. Anyone would think that the lawmakers were a bunch of lawyers masquerading as politicians.

Anyway, the thing to do is to not inconvenience, annoy or distress anybody with your shooting. That way, you've got a fair chance of, well, not inconveniencing, annoying or distressing anyone. Which can only be a good thing.
