Why not?
I inherited mine from my uncle who died in 1988.
HUGE sentimental value to me.
Just because they’re not legal to hunt with it doesn’t mean that you can’t attain enjoyment with using them on targets does it.
To be fair, and in my personal opinion, this is not a ‘helpful’ thread, as it could be used to support a knee jerk reaction by the politicians.

Yes or at least go down the certification route. Why? Because they're too easily made available for idiots whom make newspaper articles about horses and swans or cats being shot with the bloody things, which gives all who partake in shooting sports a bad name in Joe public's view. One has to have a certificate for a pellet gun above 12ft/lbs yet these crossbows put out ten times that, go figure that 🧐

Didn’t do to bad at Agincourt .
All kidding asides, I think it’s still ‘legal’ for an Englishman to shoot a Welshman using a longbow off the walls of Cardiff castle.
The law is an arse, and a few hundred years out of date in a lot of areas.

One non-injury incident involving a crossbow and everyone's getting their knickers in a twist meanwhile about 5 people are killed each week by drunk drivers and an average of over 7,500 reported injuries are caused by dog attacks each year.
Drink driving is around 600 per year - so closer to a dozen a week on average

Had a crossbow for years, but can’t remember when it’s been out of the loft.

It’s lethal, far more dangerous than a 22lr, in my opinion.

I’m not aware of any archery clubs allowing them ? And if I was asked, I’d struggle to give a good reason to own one !

They serve no useful purpose, and just allow people who can’t get an FAC, a means of owning a lethal weapon.

I’d have no issue in both bows, and cross bows requiring a license, if the are over a certain energy.
