Shoulder mount prep.

Hi

There is the really helpful post about boiling skills etc but I would like some advice on what to do if I wanted a shoulder mount.

I am after my first roe buck on Saturday and although I know chances of getting one aren’t always in our favour I promised myself years ago if I got a buck I’d get a shoulder mount done.

I’m a big taxidermy fan much to the distaste of my wife.

Once shot what do I do with it? How do I keep it safe until I can find a taxidermist and work out how to get it to them.

Thanks all

Cape it , wrap it properly (to avoid freezer burns) and freeze it until you find someone to do it.
Or you can prep the head only and buy a donor cape ready tanned.

As per caping, loads of videos on youtube if you never done it before.

Thanks. I assumed it could be frozen. Fingers crossed I get the chance
