Single stalking sticks

nice
how do you use the loops and grip?

I have used single sticks and do like the instant deployment, especially when used under pressure or tension in fence posts, trees, rocks etc
Not the best picture to discern but from the top of stick to first main loop above leather carrying grip there are knots spaced roughly 3” apart designed to ‘arrest’ slippage if stick is griped with first two fingers and cradling rifle by thumb and remaining fingers. Tricky to describe so maybe I’ll put up a picture c/o my latest creation that uses leather at a much reduced diameter.

The loops worked well for a more considered grip if sitting or kneeling.

All my single stalking stick are 7ft long so really should be called staffs.

Handy for hanging varmints too should you wish to be ultra sporting and revert to off-hand tactics!

KB - you just recently posted a pic of a beast of a single stick which breaks down in the thread titled "bipod's - love them or hate them". I don't think you've shown us that one before! Please post some pic's. I don't actually use a single stick for stalking but I do make sticks and that looks like something different. Are you sure it's not used for beating things? What metal is that on the joints please? Thanks, Foss.
