Skinning a deer head for taxidermy

Here is an interesting video showing how to skin out the head of a medium sized deer, similar in size to our Sika and Fallow deer. Just in case you shoot a good one, but don't have room to freeze the whole head. The techniques shown can be mastered with a bit of practice, but if you are not 100% confident, leave it to the taxidermist.

Interesting! Been thinking of doing this but never had the time. Done plenty of skull mounts. Think I’ll pay a professional when the right head comes along.
