I stand ready with several buckets of water on bonfire night as we've already had one rocket bounce off the Thatch. That's as may be. But I'm still sceptical that it ever happened, let alone on a wide enough scale to justify banning something.

drop the blinkersif basc are behind it i cant see the ban happening, everything they try to stop happening to shooting falls on deaf ears so i wouldnt worry
I missed with the other 47 shots. Must get some practice in before next November...I stand ready with several buckets of water on bonfire night as we've already had one rocket bounce off the Thatch.
Absolutely wonderful in Summer time when one lands in a field of oats.![]()
Keep looking over your shoulder, and at the length of your shadow.I missed with the other 47 shots. Must get some practice in before next November...![]()
Off.Ban thatched houses while we are at it .Blatant fire hazard .
As Uptonogood.Ban fields of oats as well .Unsightly ,pollen ridden ,soil drainer .
The mind boggles, firearms licensing is a mess, BASC don't care and have failed to actually achieve anything worthwhile for shooters (ever ?).
But they do want to ban balloons and paper fire lanterns. No bloody wonder shooting is in trouble, BASC you need to look at where your money comes from
and then do something to help shooters, rather than doing something to **** everyone off.
Neil.
I have a thatch on my house - there is a whole world of difference between unnecessary and necessary hazards, again something that we appear to differ onWith that attitude, one must assume you don't drive, shoot, own metal kitchen implements, have electricity in your home or ever have a fire. Etc.etc. ad nauseam
No more likely to catch fire than any other house , or so insurance company stats tell us!Ban thatched houses while we are at it .Blatant fire hazard .
Exactly that! The farmers unions can pour money into that instead. BASC ignoring Doctors fee, millions of pounds of fireworks Nov5th, new years weddings etc but lanterns are a bigger deal!? WTFWhile I agree they are a hazard, I think you have your priorities wrong. Firearms licensing is in need of a complete overhaul, medical fee's are a joke.
Ohhhhhh, is that a metal one? My brother had one and it fired the rocket as well.
