Is it hundreds or thousands of sheep ,cattle ,and horses that are set on fire every year ?
How many will it take before something is done about it ?
I've never seen them flying around here maybe there banned in Devon .

They can't be defended. End of story. Anyone who considers it acceptable to set what is basically an airborne firelighter loose needs to give their head a wobble
Would LED’s be an acceptable alternative illuminator? Clearly still gonna deposit litter throughout the land and possibly be consumed by the inmates of Animal Farm but at least they won’t set light to Manor Farm’s barn and really hack-off Mr. Jones.

As for BASC support, would it help if they disclosed what this means in terms of expended resource of the membership’s dosh?

I think that, yes, the use of these things should be banned. But I also think that, no, the use of lead shot should not be. And a judicial review should have been threatened over mandatory additional GP input beyond the Home Office guidance manual. And legal insurance retained to protect members' interests.

And that BASC resources would have been better directed to the latter - or GP medicals - or continuing insurance for non-renewal - rather than the former.

Not one but three failures to be effective. Yet, hey ho, let's divert some of Marford Mill's resources to back a call for a ban Chinese sky lanterns.

There's some would call it pathetic. But I don't care I'm with the CPSA. For they, CPSA, provide cover not only for clay pigeon shooting but also for vermin, game shooting and stalking AND continue as a member benefit to give the legal insurance cover for non-renewal of SGCs that BASC withdrew.

13,467 animals catch fire every year as these death-bubbles descend upon them from above. As for thatched cottages, whole swathes of middle-England are now smouldering ruins, bereft of their architectural patrimony, with nobbut a granary with which to adorn the lids of the biscuit tins, available from their community-owned, financially-unviable village shops.

Now. One last thing. That lead shot ban call. Whilst we are talking about banning this or banning that. Will BASC be offering MPs a further "jolly" at Catton Hall in 2021? And of so will it be insisted upon to the letter that all attendees throughout all the day use exclusively non-lead shot?

I was taught that leadership was best demonstrated by leading from the front. Not by the doctrine of "don't do as I do but do as I say". So let BASC now, here, on this Forum commit to that. At Catton Hall (or elsewhere) - that all future BASC funded MPs' "jolly days" be 100% non-lead shot only.
