I just ordered the Woodman's edition of the new Javelin Sentinel tripod/bipod/unipod system. They now offer three different lengths of adjustable legs - for open terrain, mountain and range use. Legs can be unscrewed and used as hiking poles. The head has changed too but the adaptors so far are unchanged - so good for rifles, optics etc.

Looks really impressive and having spoken to Rob - stronger and still light.

Next job is to impede the Gunsmith adapter into my stock....

I have an older Kapita and can't praise it enough. The long legs can be collapsed and used as a high bipod for sitting/kneeling and as either a bipod/tripod or single stick for standing. The best feature for me is that if another mount is fitted nearer the trigger guard then the rifle can be left standing by itself ready to use while you have both hands free. ideal if you're waiting to ambush deer and glassing or maybe calling a deer.

An exceptional piece of kit. I had the pleasure of hosting Rob Gearing in Wicklow a few weeks ago. He's a lovely guy
and I tried out the sentinel for the first time I cant say enough of good things about it or Rob.

The very best of luck with it Boomerang

I have fitted quite a few gun smith adapters and the whole system is starting to make sense to me. Many hunters want a flush forend bottom to shoot off a bag, rucksack or the high seat, in the field a bipod or tripod can be quickly attached. I even have customers wanting the flush mounted gun smith fitted adapter on tactical stocks.
I have a bipod on the way to try myself. Looking forward to it.

I’ve fitted a gunsmith adapter into the McMillan A5 carbon stock that I’m having my rifle built on.... fitted just forward of the action for use with the Sentinel. Pictures attached..

It it does balance the whole rifle up a lot better on the Sentinel as well as being flush. For reference the pictures show the classic gunsmith adapter. Although it doesn’t have the indents for locking up the 300 bipod, if used with a Javelin and Sentinel combination is does allow you to get the adapter flush with the stock subject to there being enough room.

If you want to know how it differs from the Kapita then check out this quick video we made here.. MR G on the Sentinel Tripod
