Spartan springbok bipod

Has anyone had some real world experience with the Spartan springbok bipod in the uk? I’m thinking it could be good for me as I have a lot of ruff ground where it’s not always easy to get my quad sticks up.

I have one. It is very handy for kneeling and sitting. It's ok in prone but not anywhere close to as steady as a dedicated bipod. It absolutely comes into its own on uneven ground with high vegetation. Downside- it is a pain in the arse to carry around for quick deployment. Unlike sticks, you can't rest it against yourself when you need two hands. It's grand strapped to or in a backpack if you've time to deploy. Cheers.

I've got one and would echo what @RTAW85 has said although I use it as a walking pole while stalking so don't find it a problem carrying it at all and very fast to deploy.

It is great on uneven ground or for fast tracking and adjusting. The fact it uses the magnet to attach to the rifle makes it much steadier than twin sticks and means you can lift the rifle and the sticks come with it when needed.

If you decide to sit down and ambush any deer then you can leave the rifle safely attached and standing ready to go.

I have one and it's perfect kneeling or sitting now that the crops are much higher . As an aside, I have used it without the silicone Y connector but substituted with a standard Spartan pan and cant head.

I guess that’s the good thing with the Spartan stuff. You can mix and match. Is the silicone quite floppy so hard to get a good support?

Hi guys. Thanks for the info. Sounds similar to the long Harris bipod just without the mega extra wait. 🤣
@nun_hunter do you not take sticks just the springbok?
Just the springbok as where I shoot sticks are just too much faff to set up and carry. The rubber yoke is quite stiff. It'll support the rifle like a bipod if needed but gives you plenty of cant if you need it.

Out of all the Spartan offerings I have it's the one I like the most.

Think I’m going to have to try one. 🥳 I just bought a BA13 as I walk miles. If this lets me leave the sticks behind I’ll be a happy man.

For the vast majority of shooters I would say that the silicone yolk is fine but personally I don't have the same amount of strength in my left wrist as I once had and on the odd occasion I struggled with it. 90% of the time it's all fine and dandy but for the 10% when I know it will be an issue I swap it out.

The problem for me was the application of pressure to keep the yolk splayed whilst at the same time concentrating on the aim and the aim suffered, I will add that no shots were taken whilst this scenario was ongoing.
