Stalking in gervan

Was on holiday in Tormitchell a few years ago and there were Roe quite literally everywhere that was green. Was winter time and stopping when they jumped in to the road was a pain!

Was in a syndicate for a number of year's not far from New Luce on the backroad to Barhill, which wasn't from Girvan.
We had plenty of roe and red.
Great gunshop in Glen Luce too.

The original B.A.S.C. scheme was on the Girvan side of Galloway forest, now given over to wind farming, some nice Reds came off there, Larder was in Glentrool,
.Hope these digs have upped their game, Just remembered that was THE worst place for Midgies I have ever been.

Lots of Roe inland from Girvan and quite a few Reds in the Hilly bits, a few Fallow further towards Newton Stewart and Gatehouse.
Chris Dalton at Ayrstalk has a lot of stalking in the area and the Galloway Country Sports is down at Stranraer so a couple of options.

Last time I was further over out of St John's Town of Dalry, lots of Roe, even in the town.
Before that Sikadog & I went up to see the ground & we saw four Roe just in the grounds of an old hotel not far from the first power station.

Chris Dalton is that the guy who was shooting crows off a ruined building with a 22lr using thin air as his backstop and claiming it was OK?
Other stalkers are available I’m sure.

I travel up and down there often enough, Its a good enough place booming with local syndicates everywhere on the west coast there's no shortage of deer.

decent bit of stalking in my opinion, stags arent humongous body wise (say compared to lower England) but there antlers make up for it.

Not when I've been there, never had any concerns, but I've only been out there occasionally.

Also held ground about 15mins away from Girvan for the last 15yrs; in my opinion there's not the numbers of roe in those areas as there used to be. Heavy deer contractor activity has slowed the vacuum into our area, along with wind-farm creation works.

As mentioned medal class stag heads if your in the right place and the right time..

I have chance off a syndicate place not sure what the forest is called I know glen app is not far away and I have stalked there and there was good numbers off deer

Reviving an old thread here, but if anyone has any places or suggestions for stalk (not accompanied paid type) in nearby area/syndicate please drop me a PM thank you
